	On March 21, 2009, two students passed their first degree black belt testing: JKN Tim Allan and JKN Lou Furano. On the left, as you look at the screen, is a smiling daughter, JKN Jessica Allan!
	July 25, 2009 I will try to improve the quality of this photograph. However, in the meantime, is this a unique occasion for a grading test?
	It has been a while since I included a family photograph. We are on our way to being a black belt family! DBN Sebastian has just had a new dohbok, hence the absence of patches!
	Three Calgary black belts attended the Pacific Tournament in October, 2009. I am grateful to Master McCondach for allowing them to accompany his team. In fact, JKN Jessica Allan is now a member of his team!
	On November 28, 2009, three students promoted to black belt: JKN Vince Gosling, JKN Kim Morritt and JKN Brian Morritt. On Friday, November 27, quite a lot of snow fell in much of Alberta. Nevertheless, JKN Kim and JKN Brian made the journey from their home, which is east of Edmonton, to Calgary, along with their four children! And, after the grading test, they returned the same day! KSN Morgan Freeman and KSN Emma Freeman made a similar journey, because KSN Morgan is in the process of testing for third degree black belt. It is just as well that the grading test was not held on the following Saturday, December 5, because we had our first blizzard of the season on the Friday! To use the vernacular: No one wasn't goin' nowhere!

	On February 26, 2011, Morgan Freeman was promoted to 3rd degree black belt. His title is now Pu Sa Bum Nim. By happy coincidence, JIKJN Don McCondach was in Calgary, and so was able to attend this unique occasion in the history of Kuk Sool Won of Calgary West. KSN Emma is holding daughter Grace.
	So, now we are a black belt family! Sebastian and Sofia promoted to 1st degree black belt on March 19, 2011.
